How I take over after therapy
I'm a personal trainer, not a therapist. This page tells you in two minutes what I do, what I don't do, which tests I document and what you get back when you refer someone to me.
What I do
- Follow-up training after completed physiotherapy or rehab: strength, balance, mobility, everyday load tolerance.
- 1:1 fall prevention at home, including the environment (stairs, carpets, bathroom) and floor-based falling technique (sitting down, getting up, bracing).
- Graded exposure for movement-related fear, habit building, home programmes with a mini, plus and elite version of every exercise.
- Neurocentric drills (visual, vestibular, proprioceptive) as a supplement — only if they produce a measurable change within the session.
What I don't do
- No diagnoses, no therapy, no manual techniques, no statements about medication.
- No training with red flags: new or unexplained dizziness, syncope, new neurological signs, night pain, unintended weight loss, fall with head impact, unexplained chest pain or breathlessness on exertion. In these cases I refer back to you or the GP.
- No rolling (falling technique) with osteoporosis, anticoagulation, joint replacements or after fractures without explicit medical clearance.
- No take-over while therapy is ongoing — unless at your explicit request and in coordination with you.
What I measure and document
- Intake form incl. diagnoses, medication, surgeries, fall history, fear of falling (short self-rating).
- Standardised tests depending on the goal: Timed Up and Go, 30-second chair stand, tandem / single-leg stance (seconds), gait speed, grip strength; FMS screen for younger and athletic clients.
- Additionally the balance check with Wobble (smartphone sensors, four stance conditions) — a training reference value, not a medical device.
- Re-measurement with the same tests after 8 to 12 weeks. I flag learning and measurement effects and only interpret changes that exceed the known measurement error.
What you get back
- With the client's written consent: a one-page summary (PDF) after the first consultation and after every re-measurement — baseline values, goal, programme, results, open questions for you.
- Without consent: nothing. I don't contact any professional without permission (Art. 9 GDPR).
- If anything abnormal shows up during training: same-day referral back to you.
